Our King Complex

Posted by: | Comments (0)

When King David was old and well advanced in years… Adonijah… put himself forward and said, “I will be king.” I Kings 1.

David was a great King who had ruled Israel with an iron hand for 40 years. But, time had caught up with him. Things the old king use to do, he could not do anymore. And so, the hell hounds came out of the cracks and crevices.

Inspirations

Some people live in and talk about the past so much it’s as if they are “planning for the past.”

The “I’m an adult victim/survivor of (fill in the blank)” culture does a great disservice to the possibility of change. There comes a time when you have to give up the identity of victim/survivor and decide who you will be now and in the future.

Here are 5 emotional states that can change your life: disgust, commitment, desire, decision and resolve.

Some people confuse foolish stubbornness with determination.

Readjusting Your Eye Focus

Peter is a man after my own heart. I feel a certain bond with him. Perhaps, it is because he reminds me of myself at times and my friends and family at other times. Or it could be that I see Peter in all of us as we walk the Christian path and strive to serve Christ obediently, and yet, possessing shortcomings that can become our own stumbling stones.

The use of hypnotic states can be extremely helpful in combating the stress associated with fears and phobias. It is a natural and effective means of achieving a profound state of mental and physical relaxations. It eliminates stress and anxiety and allows the body and mind to heal themselves.

Being hypnotized is very similar in feeling to what you experience just prior to sleep our while daydreaming. You are in perfect control of yourself and can wake up, or snap out of it at any time.

The Art Of Giving

Posted by: | Comments (0)

In the pursuit of the life we dream of, this journey we are on for
successful living, the focus is usually on figuring out what it is exactly
that we want and then setting ourselves on course for going and getting it.
This is very important: Know what you want to get for your life and then
pursue it.

But there is another aspect of achieving the life you dream of that seems on
the surface to actually be counter-productive to getting the life you want,
yet is imperative to the successful life. It is giving.

For a leader, honesty and integrity are absolutely essential to survival. A lot of business people don’t realize how closely they’re being watched by their subordinates. Remember when you were a kid in grammar school, how you used to sit there staring at your teacher all day? By the end of the school year, you could do a perfect imitation of all your teacher’s mannerisms. You were aware of the slightest nuances in your teacher’s voice – all the little clues that distinguished levels of meaning, that told you the difference between bluff and “now I mean business”.

The End Of Guilt

Posted by: | Comments (0)

What is the purpose of guilt?

Well, let’s look at it.

Some would say that guilt is necessary to help us remember things we did that we should regret, so that,

We won’t make the same mistakes again, so that,

We can feel we are learning from our mistakes, so that,

We can become more moral, more compassionate, more confident, more self respecting and more virtuous human beings, so that,

We can feel better about ourselves, so that,

Our Self Worth can rise, and so that,

Our Self Esteem can rise.

Emotions are the most powerful forces inside us. Under the power of emotions, human beings can perform the most heroic (as well as barbaric) acts. To a great degree, civilization itself can be defined as the intelligent channeling of human emotion. Emotions are fuel and the mind is the pilot, which together propel the ship of civilized progress.

Which emotions cause people to act? There are four basic ones; each, or a combination of several, can trigger the most incredible activity. The day that you allow these emotions to fuel your desire is the day you’ll turn your life around.

Change

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Those of you, who can fathom yourselves welcoming and enjoying a big, major change in your life right now, raise your hands! When I say, change, it might be a good change and it might be a bad change. Either way, we all don’t know what that change is going to be like, what aspect of our lives is going to change and we might not even be happy with it.

Still feel like raising your hand now?

Our Worst Enemy

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Who do you consider as your worst enemy? The criminals roaming
the dark streets? Your boss who’s killing you mentally and
emotionally with stress and harsh words? The people in office
who are engaging in graft and corruption, instead of helping
those in need?

We have many implications of who our enemies are; but we have
one common foe who is the main cause of our failures and
misfortunes, and we’re not even aware of this opponent.

You may not want to admit it, but our worst enemy is ourselves.
