Facing The Enemies Within
Posted by: | CommentsWe are not born with courage, but neither are we born with fear. Maybe some of our fears are brought on by your own experiences, by what someone has told you, by what you’ve read in the papers. Some fears are valid, like walking alone in a bad part of town at two o’clock in the morning. But once you learn to avoid that situation, you won’t need to live in fear of it.
Fears, even the most basic ones, can totally destroy our ambitions. Fear can destroy fortunes. Fear can destroy relationships. Fear, if left unchecked, can destroy our lives. Fear is one of the many enemies lurking inside us.
Gratitude – For Dummies
Posted by: | CommentsYes, it might feel great to win the lottery. Money, houses, travel – these are wonderful, but not enough by themselves. You need the right frame of mind to fully enjoy life. You need the attitude of gratitude.
Be Grateful
Life is better when you feel blessed, when you can look around and say “Thank you, God.” Religious or not, when you see life as a wonderful gift, your experience is a richer one than any amount of money can provide. Imagine going through life like you’re a child, and every morning is Christmas.
5 Ways To Be More Encouraging
Posted by: | CommentsWe all need encouragement. Even the most callous, hard headed self made person needs encouragement to stay on track and move forward. This isn’t news – it is something we all know.
Unfortunately many times we don’t take action on what we know.
We can change our habits about encouragement – we can choose to become a more encouraging person. This will have a positive impact on our results and satisfaction in a variety of roles we play in life – from leader to co-worker to team member to parent to family member.
Imagination
Posted by: | CommentsImagination is the unreal, real state of mind, where all things are experienced as real. Imagination is powerful and is an intermediary step between thought and word. Thoughts are experienced in the imagination before they are manifested into physical reality.
As important as this step is in the process of creating, it is the least explored on a conscious level. It is the easiest step to move into from our conscious state and can be accessed at will. Just close your eyes and start imagining. From our earliest awareness, our parents both encourage and discourage us from being in this creative condition, because they know how powerful it is. Powerful imaginations can be intoxicating.
Forgiveness
Posted by: | Comments“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32, NIV
I know, I always use animal photos in my visual aids and use them as examples in my writings but they are my gift and my passion! Besides, they can always show us how forgiveness works, can’t they? You can be angry with them and they’ll still shower you with love. Our God in heaven is like that. He forgives us if we but ask Him to and are repentant in our hearts. The funny thing is, we often aren’t nearly as generous as our Holy and Sovereign God. We struggle with forgiveness. I heard this message about forgiveness ALL week so I know emphatically that God is wanting me to GET this!
Forgiveness – The Other Side
Posted by: | CommentsIf we are honest with ourselves, we would have to admit that the reason we have difficulty forgiving others is because we sincerely believe we are justified in our withholding forgiveness. We become the judge of the offenders and by harboring bitterness and resentment against them; it is our distorted way of meting out punishment. After all, our wounds are deep and our heart severely punctured.
At the core of our unwillingness to forgive of course, is our own selfishness—the “me” factor. We are deeply focused on what was done to “me.” We refuse to let ourselves heal and we therefore become prisoners of the self, forever pacing the narrow cell of animosity and self-pity. Some folks have sentenced themselves for life and they are still dismally serving their time.
Finding Freedom!
Posted by: | Comments“You have not handed me over to the enemy but have set my feet in a spacious place. ” Psalm 31:8, NIV
During this weekend we’re reminded of all of those who’ve gone before to fight for our country so that we can remain America the Free. I’m not sure how many truly realize the cost of freedom and what it takes for us to remain that way. In fact, many of our basic rights such as freedom of religion are disintegrating right before our eyes and yet with so much apathy prevalent it seems as though we’re sleeping right through a take-over.
Establising Dreams & Goals
Posted by: | CommentsOne of the amazing things we have been given as humans is the unquenchable desire to have dreams of a better life, and the ability to establish goals to live out those dreams.
Think of it: We can look deep within our hearts and dream of a better situation for ourselves and our families; dream of better financial lives and better emotional or physical lives; certainly dream of better spiritual lives. But what makes this even more powerful is that we have also been given the ability to not only dream but to pursue those dreams and not only to pursue them, but the cognitive ability to actually lay out a plan and strategies (setting goals) to achieve those dreams. Powerful! And that is what we will discuss in detail this week: How to dream dreams and establish goals to get those dreams.
Get A New Attitude
Posted by: | CommentsOne of the first and foremost things to do to change your life is to change your attitude. Attitude is fundamental to the success or failure that we experience in our life.
Are you less successful than you would like to be? Do you have the money you want? Do you have the family you want? Do you have the job that you want?
If you answered “no” to any of the questions above, then you may want to take a look at your attitude, because so much depends on it!
