Inspirations

September 26, 2008

Some people live in and talk about the past so much it’s as if they are “planning for the past.”

The “I’m an adult victim/survivor of (fill in the blank)” culture does a great disservice to the possibility of change. There comes a time when you have to give up the identity of victim/survivor and decide who you will be now and in the future.

Here are 5 emotional states that can change your life: disgust, commitment, desire, decision and resolve.

Some people confuse foolish stubbornness with determination.

Enjoy Your Life: Change Your Point of View

September 2, 2008

“Two men look out through the same bars: One sees the mud, and one sees the stars.”- Frederick Langbridge, A Cluster of Quiet Thoughts

If you’ve placed second in a writing contest, will you jump for joy and push for better results the next time or will you be discouraged and find an excuse not to join again?

In life, you are always filled with choices. You may opt to have a pessimist’s view and live a self-defeated life or you may decide to take the optimist’s route and take a challenging and fulfilling life.

“Enlightenment” Your 7 days program to Positive thinking

August 29, 2008

I’m sure you have a bright idea hidden somewhere in the back of your mind that you just can’t wait to test out. Of course you’re not the only one with the bright idea. So what motivates you to churn those creative, or even inspiring juices to its utmost flavor?

It’s always best to set up a personal goal where you can accomplish the most in record time, maybe like mowing the lawn in an hour before the big game on TV. A correct and positive attitude in whatever you do will make things easier, and even enjoyable.

Positive Self Talk - What Should You Say

August 20, 2008

How do you explain things to yourself? With positive self talk or negative? What we say to ourselves radically affects the quality of our lives, and our ability to do things effectively. How useful is it to always tell yourself “impossible,” “more problems,” “never,” and “I can’t?”

Below are some of the things that positive and negative people say. Look at the difference, and start talking to yourself in constructive ways, if you don’t already.

Negative Self Talk

Good-bye Yesterday, Hello Today

August 12, 2008

Many of us are unable to move forward with our lives because we refuse to let go of what no longer exist: YESTERDAY. The portal to yesterday is permanently closed; gone out of business. It is non-existent; a mere idea of what once was.

It is disconcerting that so many, many people are stuck in the unyielding grip of what happened to them in yesteryears. They experience great difficulty living in the present. Yes, their bodies are here, but their minds and souls float around lost in the non-existent twilight of yesterday.

Dream Your Life

July 18, 2008

Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn’t fantasized about being the one who hits the game-winning homer? Who hasn’t dreamed of being the homecoming queen? And how many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships?

Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that – dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic.

This is a sad turn of events in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day just barely existing.

Being Fruitful

July 14, 2008

Over the years I’ve learned to challenge my audiences to turn their response to the ideas and information they receive into results. According to the Christian story, the first couple, Adam and Eve, was instructed to be fruitful - produce some results.

Fruitful is kind of an interesting word; it denotes abundance. Here’s what I think fruitful, abundance and productivity mean - to go to work on producing more than you need for yourself. I think we fulfill that command given to us so long ago to be productive, to produce far more than we need for ourselves, by blessing others, blessing our nation and blessing our enterprise.

Don’t Worry, Be Happy!

June 20, 2008

Philippians 4:6—do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Have you ever been worried about anything? Worried about how you were going to get money to pay the bills? Worried about how you were going to pay for that new water pump that your car needs right now? Worried about whether or not you will ever find the right mate? Worried about whether the food in the refrigerator will last until your next payday? Worried about being terminated in the lay off? Worried about how you were going to make ends meet?

Believe In Yourself

June 15, 2008

Diana is a wonderful person with a great personality and a lot of talent. Anybody who knows her can easily see the talents that she possesses. Everybody, that is, except Diana.

See, Diana has a low opinion of herself. Yes, she knows she has a few talents, or things that she likes to do. But when she thinks about it, she doesn’t see anyway that any one would ever pay her for her service.

Don’t Be A Complainer

June 8, 2008

Complaining. There’s room for legitimate complaining, but if you let this deadly disease of attitude - complaining – loose, it will conquer you. Complaining can take over your life. Destroy you and leave you without anything.

Nobody wants to take along a complainer. Nobody wants to promote a complainer. Nobody wants to live with one. Nobody wants to be a partner of one. Nobody wants to have one around.
