Why Are Salutations Important?
Posted by: | CommentsThe salutation, says a French writer, is the touchstone of good breeding. According to circumstances, it should be respectful, cordial, civil, affectionate or familiar: an inclination of the head, a gesture with the hand, the touching or doffing of the hat.
If you remove your hat you need not at the same time bend the dorsal vertebr’ of your body, unless you wish to be very reverential, as in saluting a bishop.
Are Your Goals Exciting
Posted by: | CommentsThis may sound like a strange question, but are you really excited about your goals? Of course, I’m making the assumption that you have already invested the time to think about what you want your life to be like and identified some of your goals in several areas. If not, please do this immediately. If you don’t know where you’re going, how will you know when you get there.
Having written goals will change your life; I guarantee it! Spend some time thinking about what you’d like your life to be like. For the sake of this exercise, let’s set goals you’d like to have accomplished one year from now. Of course, you can set shorter and longer goals as well.
The Time To Act
Posted by: | CommentsEngaging in genuine discipline requires that you develop the ability to take action. You don’t need to be hasty if it isn’t required, but you don’t want to lose much time either. Here’s the time to act: when the idea is hot and the emotion is strong.
Let’s say you would like to build your library. If that is a strong desire for you, what you’ve got to do is get the first book. Then get the second book. Take action as soon as possible, before the feeling passes and before the idea dims. If you don’t, here’s what happens –
The Laws Of Magnetic Attraction
Posted by: | CommentsFIRST LAW: Relation of Power to “Tone”. The effectiveness of magnetism in action depends upon harmony of “tone” between its possessor and any other person, and in securing such “tone” harmony, on any magnetic plane, in any particular psychic state, at any given time, psychic and physical magnetism mutually cooperate.
SECOND LAW: Magnetic Intention. The magnetic intention (“I INTEND MAGNETICALLY”) intensifies otherwise unconscious magnetism, and runs through all the mass of general etheric vibrations like a theme in complicated music, imparting to them unity, character, intelligence, and definite and enormous effectiveness in practical employment.
Your Recommended Daily Allowance for Relaxation
Posted by: | CommentsStress is the curse of living in modern times. Everyone suffers from stress. And the stress we suffer takes a heavy toll on our bodies, emotions and minds.
Feeling stressed out, worn out by fatigue or just simply having a miserable day, the best thing to do is relax.
Watching television may be a form of relaxation for some, but is not a recommended method by experts. When we watch TV we are bombarded with commercials, ads, sounds and images. So how do we achieve relaxation? If there are thousands of ways we can get stressed, one of them is not meeting deadlines, there are also many ways we can relax.
Sanity Savers
Posted by: | CommentsShow Of Hands
Posted by: | CommentsThe human body is surely a miracle of God’s creation. Each member has its unique function with none quite as active as the hands. Everything man has ever made or ever will make is made by hands.
The human hand is a miracle which we completely take for granted. The work of our hands, in their eloquence, silence, restlessness, creativity, and violence, has made human history and continues to shape the present and future.
How Logic Puzzles Can Help You Become a Better Problem Solver
Posted by: | CommentsI have to admit that I am a confirmed puzzle-head. I love crosswords, acrostics, and cryptograms. But I am becoming ever more intrigued by logic problems. For one thing they teach you how to become a more attentive listener or reader to catch the nuances of language that can provide invaluable clues to their solution. For another, they teach the step-to-step process of processing information. These are skills that are valuable for nearly all reasoning situations.
The Secret Of Transformation
Posted by: | CommentsGreat men and women succeed moment by moment, step by step, lifted up by one small victory after another, until they reach a lofty and impressive pinnacle of success and influence.
Similarly, a group or cause can move from obscurity to great renown through making consistent small wins.
Small wins may not inspire much attention, but through methodical persistence something large and awesome is created.
Stamp Collecting
Posted by: | CommentsStamp collecting, also known as philately, is a popular and educational past time. Stamp collectors save stamps from letters, especially those from other countries. They also search out old stamps that represent a past time. Stamp enthusiasts can be found everywhere. Their notebooks and glassine envelopes filled with stamps are fascinating to look through. Many of the stamps they collect are very valuable as well.
