With the fate of your company riding on your shoulders, wasted time is by far your biggest enemy. Learn how to nip those productivity-busters in the bud while making a beeline for your goals.

1. Use voicemail to your advantage.

If you’re in the throes of mapping out your business strategy and the phone rings, do you pick it up? If so, break the habit right now. Voicemail exists for your convenience. If you don’t answer the phone, the person will leave a message. Call them back when you’re in a better frame of mind for productive conversation.

In our society, our daily lives can be very taxing. With the loud city noises and our hectic schedules, we can easily become overwhelmed. So how can we overcome overwhelm and achieve our desired results?

Through trial and error, I tried out different approaches to reduce overwhelm in my life. I also observed the results of my clients with the same challenge as well as individuals who were truly living fully, without overwhelm. I noticed commonality between the means that resulted in success. This lead me to identifying the three key strategies to overcome overwhelm and achieve your desired results. These three strategies have no particular order and all three are important. If someone focuses on only one or two of these, they can experience positive results; however, to completely overcome overwhelm and achieve your desired results, it is important to incorporate all three of the following strategies over time.

Spend some time thinking about how good you have it. We know this, but we don’t often spend time pondering it. Doing so will shape and mold your attitude and develop healthy thought patterns that will make you more thankful all of the time.

As the old hymn goes, “Count Your Blessings, Name Them One By One.” Take some time and write down every single thing you have in your life to be thankful about. Do this with your children if you have some, and you will all be astounded at all the good things in your life.

Inquisitive souls often find new tools that help them improve their personal life. The old saying, “Curiosity can kill the cat,” is something you want to re-evaluate. Sure, if you become curious of something that would obviously cause you harm, then the cat just might die. Curiosity is a gift. We can use this gift to our advantage if we choose, or we can make serious judgments that cause problems.

Use Your Time Wisely!

When I was small, I have never considered the importance of time.
I would just laze around, watch TV, lie in bed, and play video
games. As I grew older, I thought about the things that I have
achieved. To my surprise, I haven’t accomplished a lot.

I resolved to myself that I will do things that will contribute
to the benefit of mankind. I studied very hard and learned a
lot of lessons from my experience. I lack self-confidence
before, so I want to help other people overcome this predicament.

Voices Inside My Head

Have you ever wanted to do something really major—something stupendous—something totally different and so down right incredible that the fact that you created the idea has you stimulated and excited?

Like, for instance, you decide to open your own business. You have the idea of exactly what you want to do and how you want to do it. You are so excited you can’t sleep because your mind is working overtime with thoughts and ideas.

But just as quick as the ideas come to you, a voice comes into your head that says, “Girrrrrrrrrrrrrrlllllllllllllll, just who do you think you are? You can’t do that. What are you, crazy? That’s just entirely too far out of your reach.”

Let’s face it: at one point or another, we are all bound to procrastinate on something. Even the most efficient time-manager will have a bump in the road now and then. But what happens when procrastination becomes the norm instead of the exception? While Nike® tells us to “Just Do It,” what happens when we “Just Don’t!”

Sometimes, when all our doubts, fears and insecurities wrap ourselves up, we always come up with the idea of “I wish I was somebody else.” More often than not, we think and believe that someone or rather, most people are better than us.- when in reality, the fact is, most people are more scared than us.

As responsible employers, parents, and friends, we have an obligation to correct the mistakes of other people in order to enhance their personal success. The task before us is how to correct a deficiency without damaging the delicate ego that can sometimes get in the way. Too often people criticize someone’s behavior without providing a solution and this is detrimental because it then becomes a personal attack on the person that only aims to demerit them. Constructive criticism involves pointing out their weakness and offering a solution to correct it. In order to give constructive criticism, we must seek the solution to the problem before we point it out to the person. By doing this, we effectively separate the behavior from the ego and preserve the relationship in the process.

Strange as it may seem, our life is made up of a series of “sales presentations”.  Sales may not be your gig, but if you’re the boss you’re making presentations everyday.  Be it a pitch to your Board, announcing a policy change to employees, selling an idea to your spouse, or just trying to win others over to your point of view – you need to punch up your people skills for winning pitches.

Like it or not we are all salesmen.  Our lives are made up of a series of “sales presentations”, otherwise known as presenting one’s self in the best light possible. Whether we’re out for a job interview, trying for a raise, or just convincing our employees that a job must be accomplished – you are making a presentation.

To become masterful at it can be summed up in the acronym IPRESENT!

  • I – involve your audience
